What's it like?
Of all the larger towns on the Turkish coast, Bodrum is the one you should visit. Home of one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world, but also picturesque and near local beaches, Bodrum holidays offer something for every different type of traveller. For the culturally inclined St Peter’s castle is one of the many attractions, containing a handful of excellent museums. You must also visit the remains of the Mausoleum of Halicarnassos, although as with most of the ancient wonders, not much of it is left today. The town’s harbour is also a hub for boat trips to many islands, and the nearby beach at Gumbet is an easy distance by bus. Hotels in Bodrum can be found to suit any taste and budget.
