What's it like?
If three thousand hours of sunshine a year doesn't tempt you to the closest Canary Island to the African coast, perhaps the amazing beaches and watersports will. Fuerteventura lures surfers, windsurfers and divers to it's beautiful coastline each year, and with it's latitude on a par to Florida and Mexico, it's little wonder why. There's definately more to Fuerteventura than just the beach, with Jeep Safari's providing the best off road trip on the island through landscapes formed by volcanic lava. Another one for the boys, the Sport Fishing that the island offers is fantastic, with many excursions available with all the equipment provided. Hotels in Fuerteventura offer something for everyone. As do the many villas for rent that can accommodate big groups of people with your own private pool. Many of the hotels on the island offer all-inclusive packages where your food, soft drinks and local alcoholic drinks are included in the price which can offer fantastic value for money. But be aware that you may be missing out on some lovely Spanish restaurants if you are restricted to eating at your hotel.
