What's it like?

Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain and the capital of Catalonia. The city is steeped in history and has gone through a complete cultural transformation in the last 25 years. Ever since the olympics in 1992, Barcelona doesn't seem to be able to put a foot wrong. The stunning city centre is bursting at the seams with what you expect from a classic European city - open air markets, excellent restaurants & bars, imposing churches and scores of great museums. The city is host to a pretty decent football team too! With over 500 hotels in Barcelona, you certainly aren't short of places to stay. Prices in the summer range from £20 per night at one of the city centre hostels to £300+ per night for an evening of luxury in one of the cities landmark 5 star hotels such as the Hesperia Tower or the Hotel Majestic.
