What's it like?
Doha is the capital city of Qatar, located on the Persian Gulf, it literally means 'the big tree'. A lovely activity to do in Doha is to take a stroll around the Corniche, or seafront, a pretty area with statues, flower displays and fountains. Get lost in the Souq Waqif, the biggest souq or market in Doha. Those after a more modern shopping mall should hed to Villagio, surrounded by a canal, Venecian style gondolas and an ice-skating rink- they have thought of everything! There are plenty of bars and clubs in Doha, many of which are located in the hotels. Women will be pleased to know that they can usually get in for free, whilst men may have to pay a small cover charge. Hotels at Doha do cover a range to suit all budgets. However, most of the hotels on the internet are at the more expensive end. Splurge at The Ritz-Carlton or The Four Seasons, with exclusive pool and beach areas for hotel guests and spa members only. Hotels in Doha don't offer the same range as Dubai, but there are more and more 5 star hotels springing up constantly.
